Sinking Fund


The sinking fund is a way to pay a debit, maturing future, avoiding the disbursement of cash at once. It is widely used in negotiations with debentures, where, the issuer, if case, is obliged to create a sinking fund to pay, at maturity due, the holders.
The sinking fund is also used in several situations, when there is an expectation of future payments. For example: a future business expansion, Indemnities etc.
